List of the most important Viking Gods

Germanic and Norse pagan mythology is a little known subject and yet one of major influence on our present time. We know their stories through religious tales and myths . Note that Norse mythology comes from Scandinavian tradition and is therefore transmitted orally. It was not until the 12th and 13th centuries that these cults and ritual practices were written down by Christian historians. We therefore cannot be sure of the veracity of the remarks which have most certainly been influenced by the Christian religion.
