The world of Hel, Hades

In Norse mythology, Hel or Helheim, is one of the nine worlds supported by Yggdrasil. This kingdom is ruled by one of the children of the god Loki, the goddess of the underworld, Hela. Helheim can be translated as Hades. This is where people who died of illness or old age meet. Those entering Helheim cannot exit once they cross the Gjöll River. To do this, these people go through the Gjallarbu bridge, guarded by the giantess Modgud, which is the only way to Hel. This path is called Helveg and can be translated as "the path of the dead".
