The Symbolism of the Celtic Knot

In Celtic culture the famous knots are complete loops without beginning or end. A symbol of eternity whether in loyalty, faith, friendship or love, the Celtic knot is made using a single stroke intertwining around the tree. This knot was found on jewelry sets, plates, and clothes. Among the Vikings, the most famous Celtic Knot is called the Celtic Trinity Knot or Triquetra. This symbol is composed of 3 oval shapes intertwining with each other with a circle in the middle that crosses them. The 3 forms can have several meanings such as past, present and future, spirit, body and soul or even life, death and rebirth.
