The universe of the Vikings is strewn with symbols, runes, drawings all possessing more or less important meanings. This cushion ideally reflects this Scandinavian universe with in particular the Nordic compass Vegvisir thanks to which the warriors who took to the sea were sure to find their way through the waves unleashed by the storm. This compass is surrounded by the roots and branches of the famous World Tree Yggdrasil linking the nine kingdoms together, a guarantee of protection. Finally, surrounding these two elements, we have the Viking runes which were learned by Odin himself when he hung himself for nine days and nine nights from the branches of the Tree of Life.
