According to Scandinavian mythology, Fenrir, son of Loki and the giantess Angrboda, is a gigantic wolf so powerful that he was considered dangerous by the gods who chained him to Ragnarok. On the day Ragnarok began, Jormungand unleashed the oceans and Fenrir freed himself from his chains. After a fierce fight against Odin and his spear Gungir, he ends up devouring him and thus ending the reign of the King of the Gods.
